Non-Load Bearing Elements

Non- Load bearing elements are designed to support only their own weight and wind or seismic forces perpendicular to the panel.  Non-Load bearing elements also known as cladding elements, may be designed as non-load bearing spandrels, solid non-load bearing walls or non-load bearing punched wall panels.  These elements could be cast from architectural concrete (colored concrete with an acid-etched, exposed aggregate or sand blast finish and textured surfaces with the use of form liners) or plain gray structural concrete.  Concrete strengths are typically 5000 psi at 28 days.
